TSI Construction is the largest of the three business divisions within TSI. We have best-in-class capabilities in the design, construction, earthwork and ground treatment related to industrial ponds or lakes and the associated downstream processing plants, making us the premier construction specialist in this area.

The founders of TSI spared no efforts in what was to become TSI's first and largest-to-date multi-phased multi-year construction project. The first phase of the project was to elevate the water retention ability of the already built salt lakes at Shuaiba, which would be the primary test of TSI's ability to differentiate itself from the existing local players in the industrial pond construction industry. The best construction specialists were brought to the project, including those with extensive background in construction, civil engineering, infrastructure works and project management. Valuable local experience was also brought to the project from a TSI personnel's experience in the construction and maintenance of aquacultural ponds in Saudi Arabia, thereby contributing to the salt farm project critical applied knowledge from the construction of ponds under locally prevailing soil and evaporative desert weather conditions, both of which makes pond construction projects in the Middle East one of the toughest projects in the world. Beyond that, given the massive acreage and enormous scale of the project, we had sourced global expertise for the project through collaborations with a Jordan-headquartered geomembrane lining specialist contractor (Modern Environmental Services Company (MESC) LLC) and a Germany-headquartered salt and minerals production process consultancy firm (K-UTEC AG Salt Technologies). These partnerships with top global companies allowed TSI to bring to the Saudi salt farm project the best practice technical know-how and world-class salt production technology which are at completely different levels as compared to the techniques employed by the predecessor contractor originally assigned to build the Saudi salt farm.

TSI's diligence paid off and the result of the salt farm repair by TSI was spectacular, reversing millions of dollars in annual operational losses and successfully turning around the salt farm into a profitable operation. The successful rejuvenation by TSI of the existing salt farms won TSI the client's confidence in subsequently commissioning TSI to become the turnkey contractor in subsequent phases of the client's salt production business. Not only was TSI given the mandate to construct new salt ponds in the second phase of the client's salt farm project, we were also given the mandate to construct a new downstream salt refinery plant, thereby allowing us to provide a complete end-to-end construction service for the whole salt production complex.
